Alison Shaw
Martha’s Vineyard has provided the inspiration and subject matter for most of Alison Shaw’s color and black-and-white photography. She teaches photography workshops on the island, as well as in Venice, Maine, Nova Scotia, Mexico, and New Zealand. Her most recent published books include Morning Glory Farm and the Family that Feeds an Island (with author Tom Dunlop, 2009) and Raising the Salad Bar (with author Catherine Walthers, 2007). New books for 2010 include Schooner and Soups and Sides. The Alison Shaw Gallery, which Alison owns and runs with her partner Sue Dawson, is located in an old single-engine firehouse in the heart of the Arts District in Oak Bluffs.
