Karima Grant

Karima Grant, born to a Senegalese mother and a St. Lucian father and raised in the United States, is the author of two children’s picture books (the critically received 2006 Sofie and the City (Boyd’s Mills Press, 2006), and Nelson Mandela (Scholastic, 2005), and contributor to a number of young adult anthologies, journals, and magazines. In addition to leading international leadership programs across the African continent, Karima teaches literature and writing classes, and leads creative writing projects in community schools in Dakar, Senegal, where she lives with her husband and three children. She is completing her second adult novel, Teggin.
