Laban Hill
Laban Hill is the co-founder and co-director of the Ghana Poetry Project, a nonprofit promoting a literary culture in Africa. Hill's poem "Dave the Potter" will be published as a picture book illustrated by Bryan Collier in September 2010 (Little Brown). His book Harlem Stomp! A Cultural History of the Harlem Renaissance was a 2004 National Book Award Finalist, and garnered more than 30 awards and honors. His poems have been published in numerous literary magazines and have been anthologized. Hill has written more than 30 books for children, young adults and adults.
