Andrew Tonkovich
Andrew Tonkovich edits the West Coast literary journal Santa Monica Review and hosts a weekly books show and podcast, Bibliocracy Radio, on Pacifica’s KPFK (90.7 FM) in Southern California. His essays, fiction and reviews have appeared in the OC Weekly, Faultline, Juked, ZYZZYVA, The Rattling Wall, Los Angeles Review of Books, Los Angeles Times and Best American Nonrequired Reading. He is the co-editor with Lisa Alvarez of the first-ever literary anthology of his adopted county, Orange County: A Literary Field Guide (Heyday), and a novella collection, The Dairy of Anne Frank and More Wish Fulfillment in the Noughties. A short story collection, Keeping Tahoe Blue, is forthcoming from What Books Press. Tonkovich teaches writing at UC Irvine, where he works with the union representing Librarians and Lecturers, and is a longtime staff member of the Community of Writers summer creative writing workshops.
