Debbie Eisenberg Merion is an author, writing coach, and educational consultant (essaycoaching.com) in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  She holds an MSW from the University of Michigan and a MFA in Creative Non-Fiction from Solstice of Pine Manor College. She is the author of the book Solving the College Admissions Puzzle and over 100 published essays, stories, and feature articles, and is an editor at SolsticeLit Books.   “Ess Ess Mein Kihnd” is an excerpt from her first memoir, The Hot Dog Between Fear and Desire– the story of a mother’s struggle to save the life of her young adult anorexic daughter, told against the often-humorous background of her own sessions with a child psychiatrist to deal with own childhood eating habits.
