Marlon Carey

MARLON CAREY is a Poet Educator Actor Communicator Entertainer. He has a bachelor of fine arts degree in creative writing, which he earned at St. Andrews College in Laurinburg, North Carolina, and has taught poetry and creative writing around the country. He is a multi-talented artist with a fondness for experimentation. His work is often humorous and musical, and usually includes many internal rhymes and tongue-twisting phrases. He is a founding member of Brother’s Keeper, a poetry/theater ensemble. Marlon has been a member of several poetry slam teams, and he is an accomplished actor and avid musician. He is also co-founder of Shakespeare to Hiphop, an educational organization dedicated to poetry appreciation and literacy.
