Nicholas Cormier III (BIPOC) is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He spent several years as an Air Traffic Controller and graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington. He studied Art with a concentration in Film and a minor in Theatre and holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Texas State University. He is an actor, writer and a director. Nicholas owns Runner Films, a film and video production company and volunteers for Veteran-centric service organizations. He regularly advocates for mentally ill veterans, including those with substance abuse issues—living on the streets of Los Angeles. Nicholas is the Homelessness Liaison on the Community Veterans Engagement Board for the GLA VA in Los Angeles, CA. He’s a Marathon Runner, a member of Skid Row Running Club, a USC Warrior Bard and longtime member of the renowned UCLA Wordcommandos Creative Writing Workshop for Veterans. He is a grateful member of The Metaphor Club in Los Angeles. Nicholas’ short story “Tolstoy Soldiers” was officially selected for WORDTheatre’s world-wide Veteran’s Day event in 2021. In 2022, he read his work alongside some of the world’s greatest actors in for WORDTheatre. His story “Salome” is nominated for the 2023 Best of the Net. His short story “Noose” recently won 2nd Place for Creative Writing in the 2022 National Veterans Creative Arts Festival. Nicholas’ flash fiction and short stories were accepted for publication by MAYDAY Magazine, Lolwe Magazine , LEON Literary Review, Black And…, As You Were, Jupiter Review, the Good Life Review, Empyrean Literary Magazine, OneBlackBoyLikeThat Review, ISKANCHI Magazine, and Isele Magazine.
