Valerie Wilson Wesley writes mysteries, novels and children’s books. Her latest mystery is A Shimmer of Red (2023). Other mysteries in her Odessa Jones series include A Fatal Glow (2022) and A Glimmer or Death (2021). She is the author of nine Tamara Hayle Mysteries, which include When Death Comes Stealing, named one of Time’s magazine’s 100 Best mystery and thrillers. She has also written paranormal romances under the pen name Savanna Welles, which include When the Night Whispers and The Moon Tells Secrets. Her stand-alone novels are Playing My Mother’s Blues, Always True to You in My Fashion and Ain’t Nobody’s Business If I Do for which she received the 2000 award for excellence in adult fiction from the Black Caucus of the American Library Association (BCALA).
