Vanessa Nirode is a writer, cyclist, runner, and solo traveler currently based in Central Harlem, New York City, NY. She is most interested in spending time in places that do not see a great deal of tourist traffic, such as Albania, Macedonia, and Berber villages deep in the Atlas Mountains. She is currently working on a collection of essays about her experiences in Eastern Europe as a solo female traveler. She is Slovenian by nature and finds herself deeply pulled to that part of the world. She is also writing a young adult novel titled My Super Hero Asperger Brain. She currently blogs for Verge Magazine. She has published articles on Matador Network and Pink Pangea.
