Jess Skyleson

Jess Skyleson (they/them) is a queer, autistic poet and digital media artist, a former aerospace engineer who began writing after being diagnosed with stage IV cancer at age 39. Currently in remission, they’re now pursuing an MFA at Rhode Island School of Design. They received the 2022 Hippocrates Poetry and Medicine Prize, an Honorable Mention in the Tor House Poetry Prize, and were a finalist for the Yemassee Poetry Prize and Kalanithi Writing Award. Their work has appeared in Pangyrus, Oberon Poetry Magazine, and Nixes Mate Review, among others, and in anthologies from small presses throughout the US and UK.
