When not traveling and birding with her husband, Cindy Carlson spends her time along the Chesapeake Bay and hanging out at The Muse where she writes grants and serves on the Board of Directors. A winner of Hampton Roads Writers’ contest for creative nonfiction and a co-founder of the local chapter of Women Writers Who Submit, her work has appeared in several online travel journals, including The Quotable, The Wayfarer, Bird’s Thumb, Hippocampus, Tiferet, Barely South Review, Please See Me and Chautauqua.
