Michele Cacho-Negrete

Michelle Cacho-Negrete is a retired social worker who lives in Portland, Maine. A full-time writer, Michelle has published about eighty pieces of fiction and non-fiction with four essays listed among the annual “100 Most Notable.” Michelle has been honored with six Pushcart Prize nominations and is included in five anthologies including a Norton Anthology volume. Michelle won the Hope Award and was runner-up in the Brooklyn Arts literary contest. Michelle’s book Stealing: Life in America was published last year and contains the title essay, which was first published in Solstice literary magazine and won “Best of the Net.”
