Terry Blackhawk

A former Detroit high school teacher, TERRY BLACKHAWK (www.terrymblackhawk.com) is founding director of InsideOut Literary Arts Project (www.insideoutdetroit.org), a poets-in-schools program serving over 5,000 Detroit youth per year. She has four full-length collections of poetry including Escape Artist, winner of the John Ciardi Prize, and The Light Between (http://wsupress.wayne.edu/books/1429/Light-Between). She was twice named Michigan Creative Writing Teacher of the Year and has received five Pushcart nominations and the 2010 Pablo Neruda Poetry Prize.
