Valerie Miner is the author of fourteen books, including novels, story collections and a memoir. Her new novel, Traveling with Spirits, was published in September, 2013. Her work has appeared in The Village Voice, Salmagundi, Ploughshares, Triquarterly, The Georgia Review, Prairie Schooner, Gettsyburg Review, Southwest Review and many other journals. She has won awards and fellowships from The Rockefeller Foundation, the Fulbright Commission (3 Fulbrights), the Bogliasco Foundation, Fundación Valparaiso, the Jerome Foundation, the Australia Council Literary Arts Board and various other sources. She is a professor and artist in residence at Stanford University.
