Graphic Lit Editor’s Note

by Drai Whitted

In this issue we continue our new comic genre Graphic Lit with an autobiographical comic poem by Grace Desmarais titled Tubes. Grace’s work gives her readers a deeply personal view into her experience of living with Chronic illnesses. Tubes, a hospital diary, is a poignant atmospheric poem allowing us as readers to gain a unique insight into her experience through her unique artistic voice and storytelling style. Grace talks further about her art, physical struggles, and creative inspirations in our interview.

I hope this latest expansion of the Graphic Lit genre at Solstice is eye-opening, and leaves you wanting more as we are just getting started with this exciting form.
