Poetry Editor’s Note

by Ben Berman

After five years of serving as Solstice’s Poetry Editor I will soon be transitioning to the role of Contributing Editor. But solstice, as Lee Hope often reminds us, means renewal and I am absolutely delighted to welcome so many new folks to Solstice’s poetry team.

First, a huge welcome to Iain Haley Pollock, who will be taking over as Poetry Editor.  We are excited that Robbie Gamble has joined our team of readers and so pleased, too, that Barbara Siegel Carlson will be replacing Dzvinia Orlowsky as our Editor of Poetry in Translation – please see her note below about the wonderful translations in this issue. And we give our deep thanks to Anne Riesenberg for her loyal service as reader and assistant.

And because this is Solstice’s tenth anniversary, in addition to all of the compelling poems included in our on-line issue, we are also publishing a new print issue with the poetry section guest edited by Stephen Dunn.

It’s been an honor working with so many fine poets and editors over the years and I very much look forward to continuing to support Solstice in other ways.
