Dear valued readers,
In this evocative Annual Summer Contest Issue, you will encounter some thrilling new break-through talents, as well as established writers. We believe this collection is one of our best yet. In varying styles and genres these gifted writers respond to our troubled time. Please see Genre Editors’ Notes for names of our Winners and Finalists!
Our magazine continues to grow! We are close to making an announcement about two significant new additions to our staff. And we are about to announce a new enhanced Website, as well as a new series of manuscript mentorships.
Founded over eighteen years ago, Solstice: A Magazine of Diverse Voices is one of the first nonprofit literary magazines to specifically promote marginalized writers. We will continue to be true to our mission, which promotes diversity of many types: religion, race, ethnicity, country of origin, socioeconomic class, and gender.
Our magazine will likely feel the impact of the curtailment of some government grants, so we value even more our individual donors. Please consider making a contribution to Solstice.
You will be added to our Donors page in the next issue and also in our next print issue, which we hope to publish within a year.
Subscribe for free, share this fabulous summer issue, and help good literature prevail.
Whatever your level of commitment, we welcome you to our caring, committed community.
